It means deficiency of immune system acquired during the life time of an individual indicating that it is not a congenital diseases. It was first reported in 1981 and till now it has spread all over the world killing more than 25 million people. It is a viral diseases caused by HIV , a member of retro virus that decreases the no. of helper T Cells in the body making the immune system weak.

• It contains a form of progesterone that blocks the production of hormones called LH & FSH that are needed to make sperm. It is 90-95% effective.
This vaginal ring prevents pregnancy by continuously releasing synthetic estrogen & progesterone. They prevent ovaries from releasing eggs. It is 99% effective.
• It is a soft disc like device made up of poly---theme that contains spermicide which kills sperms. It is 76% effective.
